Cupcake towers made out of foam coreboard.

Have any of you made one??? How did it turn out? Hot glue wont melt these boards? I need help. Building two 3 towers (for cupcakes) each need to hold 100 cupcakes each.. HELP!!! Here is a pic of something I put together.. I will have it set up exactly like this.. which way should I go.. swag material to mimic Bells dress (beauty and the beast quince) or just plain ribbon around it? Should I add 2 number 15's if not how would I incorporate the 15 without using 2? Should I also paint the board before using? will the board take the paint???

also both bell and the rose will spin..

I haven't made anything like this but I have made some crazy intense art projects w/foamcore and you can definitely use a glue gun on foamcore. Foamcore can be colored or painted on but if it were me I'd find a nice color wrapping paper and use that. I like your idea of the swags to reflect her dress, but then when I see your drawing I think the horizontal ribbon looks classier and will better contrast the swags in the middle.

As for the 15 problem, I'm not a big fan of it appearing twice - if these are for a birthday party, what about using the guest of honor's name on the other one??

Cute! Now get out that glue gun LOL.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with assistance in any logistics you might need to construct the towers.

Oh that came out cool! I think the swags work great. I forgot that the stands would be square rather than cylindrical, in my mind I envisioned your sketch like tiered round cakes. I like the curve-on-square look. Congratulations!
