I am making shells and starfish from Wilton White Chocolate melts and need to paint them for a wedding this Saturday. Could anyone tell me the best way to do this. So far I have tried to paint using Wilton Color Mist which didn't stick (surface is too oily), then I rubbed on Wilton colors straight onto the chocolate and wiped off excess with a paper towel which didn't give very good coverage. I want to cover with color and then add sparkle with Luster Dust but when I tried mixing the Luster Dust with clear vanilla the results were nonexistent. Please help!

White chocolate is fat-based, because of the cocoa butter. Water-based colors will not adhere to it. You can use the two options previously mentioned, or use chocolate transfers.

You have to take your white chocolate, tint it with candy safe candy coloring, (or use regular food colors, and add crisco type shortening to it to thin it out. Blend well) Then take a paint brush & paint into the molds the colors you want. Each color has to dry before you add another. then pour the rest of the chocolate into the mold & freeze til firm & tap out of the mold.
