My local grocery store got very snippy with me today and only had those godawful plastic things that look like an alien space ship.

I don't need 50 of the things, but I would like to have 5-10 on hand. I got suckered into donating 2 cakes to our church bake sale, and I'd love to at least put them in boxes.

Where can I find a couple!?

If you have a local bakery, not in a grocery store, they may sell you them. I know the bakery i work at sells boxes. If you buy from a bakery supply warehouse you'll have to buy in bulk. then of course you can order online, but shipping is pretty hefty.

You may be able to find both at Michael's, JoAnns or other hobby store. Also check the phone book and web for cake and candy supply stores near you. They're often hidden! You could also do a post here to ask about cake supply stores in your area.

If you have access to Hobby Lobby, they carry sheet cake boxes.

If you sign up at www.HobbyLobby.com - they will send you coupons every week. Every other week, the coupon is worth 40% off any regularly priced item; so you could use this for your boxes.

Thanks for all the hints. PartyCity actually had them (pricey little boogers at 99c each).

But I got what I needed. YAY!

I know that the Wilton boxes at Michaels are more than that...almost $2...

I'll have to check out what they have at Party City...

Does anybody know where to get boxes that are taller than the ones you can find at Michael's? My cakes are usually too tall to fit into those. I just sent the pumpkin cake that's in my photos off to work with my husband and it would have needed a box that's about a foot in all directions, like a cube. I couldn't find anything near that so I sent it naked..

Is there a site online or somewhere that sells odd sizes?
