White Cake With Yolks?! Oops...

I accidentally used the whole egg instead of just the whites. Other than the color, how does this affect it?

it just add more fat and richness to your cake. I always use egg yolks in my white cakes. I tell people that when ordering, and let them know that if they dont want it I will just use egg whites.

It will make it a bit denser and of course not as white. It will still taste good though!

Not much change. I do it all the time. When I make the white almond sour cream cake, I use two eggs and two yokes. I got tired of trowing away all those yokes. The two yokes make a slight change in the color. But the taste is still good.

No worries ... I have always used whole eggs in my white cake, and I've never had any complaints!!! icon_smile.gif
