Hi I'm new to CC, as a newbie at cake decorating, I'm so loving this site. My question is about making sure that my top boarder is perfectly round. I have a hard time, when I'm done with my boarder it always looks like my cake is sloped down in a spot or two. Any nifty suggestions on how to keep my top boarder perfect.

Are you talking about the border you put at the top perimeter of the cake? Like a shell border? I always use my turntable and start each shell just a hair on the inside (since on a warm day last year, I realized I had put the border to much on the edge and it slipped right off - nightmare!) and then use that as the guage to make sure it's straight. Do you have a picture?

Yeah the shell border, aroung the premiter. That helps, placing them a little inside the other, how about when you pipe a rope? I really appreciate the help.

I always use my turntable all the time, for borders, garlands, and the same with the rope....
