Any ideas on how to get MMF to harden up. I attempted to make a bow out of it and it never really hardened up like the store bought. I really like working with it as far as covering cakes, because it always turns out good for me, although it is to sweet for my taste. I've tried making other recipes, but they just don't turn out well. Should I add something to it to help it harden up? Thanks

I have read that adding a bit of powdered Fixodent to the fondant helps it dry much faster and is still 'edible'....there is a lot of talk re: whether that is edible/safe, blah, blah, blah...who the heck eats a hard-as-a-rock fondant bow? Buttercream roses?.....definitely, but not hard decorations.

The other option is to use a dehydrator to speed up the process. I got one at a garage sale for $3 and it works like a charm!

Thanks for the advice. I've never tried Fixodent! HAHA! I have a food dehydrator that I've never even used. I'll have to dig it out. Thanks again icon_biggrin.gif
