When making a doll cake which do you decorate first - the doll's body or the bottom of the dress?

I'll probably put some simple decorations on the actual doll, but I didn't know which end to start with. Thanks for your help!

I usually start with the bodice of the doll and work my way down!!

I've only made one but I did the bodice first and then moved to the skirt, I figured I could cover the seaming and stuff from the fondant best that way.

It depends. Are you using a doll or a pick?

If you use a doll w/ legs you have to do the skirt first, insert the doll then cover up the insertion with the bodice.

I have two doll cakes in my pic that I made with full dolls.
