I bought domino powdered sugar this time instead of the walmart brand. And OMG my BC tasted so much better. Even my DH said it tasted alot better. It seemed to have a little bit better texture and everything. So I think from now on I will stick with Domino sugar.

The taste may have something to do with the about of cornstarch added to the product. My Wilton instructor warned that certain cheaper brands have more cornstarch (and less sugar) than the name brands.

Domino sugar is pretty hard to find in my area since Katrina hit. However i use C&H and have great results too. The PS can make or break the icing in my opinion (of course so can the shortening, darn crisco!)

I noticed the same thing when I switched from target brand! No more store brands for me.
