Icing Without Merange Powder?????

Any ideas for a royal/cookie icing with out merange powder??? Dont have time to run to the store...ideas or substitutes????? Thanks!

I don't use meringue powder for the same reason.. I can't buy it here in my town and I find it expensive . I use an icing glaze with corn syrup instead. Here is my recipe for the sugar glaze. It dries hard enough to stack the cookies, but does not dry as hard as royal or color flow.

Sugar Glaze

2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
almond extract or vanilla to suit your taste

Stir ingredients together well. This consistency is for outlining. Add additional water (I usually add a few drops at a time) to thin down for filling in the outline.
