Can you make a white cake mix into a chocolate cake mix by adding some cocoa powder? Or will that be gross. All I have is white and yellow cake mix and don't want to go to the store. Thanks in advance, Kristen

You can change it into a chocolate mix by adding some cocoa powder. You have to add 1 tbsp of shortening for every tbsp of cocoa though and add 3 tbsp of 2% milk or water for every tbsp of cocoa. It may seem runnier but cocoa powder is very absorbant and drying when it bakes.
