A former coworker of mine, someone I was pretty good friends with, is dead in a murder suicide. Her husband shot her and then himself this past Saturday night.

How awful. icon_cry.gif I just don't understand how someone could do that. Did they have any children?

I just don't understand why someone would do that. Do they realize what they've done and can't live with themselves or are they so selfish that they want to kill themself and kill the other person because they don't want the other person living and being happy without them? (Hope that makes sense) It seems like this is happening so much more often than it used to. I'm sorry about your friend and praying they didn't have children.

Aw, thanks guys.

Unfortunately, they did have children, 3 in fact.

Here are the circumstances. There is a big 2 week long music festival here, and it gets over every night at 11 PM. Traffic is a mess for a while afterward. They were in their SUV, she was in the drivers seat but pulled over to the side, jutting out in the street. She tried to get out, he grabbed her by herlong hair, pulled her into his lap, shot her, then himself. People walking by saw the whole thing. It's shocking, especially to read it in the paper and realize it is someone you have known for years. I guess it happened so fast that none of the passers by could help her? Or were scared? From witness reports, both of their doors were open on the jeep. Her husband was in the national guard and had been overseas somewhere for a year or two, I wonder if he had some post-traumatic problems.

I just keep thinking of how scared she must have been, and how fast it must have happened, and maybe she even realized she was about to die.
