popcorn salt...I have kosher and table...if I can substitue one of these how much do I use if the recipe calls for 2 pinches. (for chocolate buttercream recipe I just found). Also...recipe calls for 1 pd. of dark chocolate or chocolate candy melts(or baking chocolate) can I substitute that with semi sweet chocolate chips melted? Thanks for the help.

Yes you can substitute kosher salt.I like to dissolve mine in a tsp of water and add in after that. You can also use chocolate chips too.

recipes that usually call for popcorn salt are calling for it because its a very fine grain.........I would use table salt instead and you might dissolve it in whatever liquid goes into the recipe....vanilla extract, milk, water, etc.

You can substitute table salt, in equal amounts, without any trouble. You can dissolve it but there really isn't any need. You would run into trouble ONLY if you needed to add a large quanitity (tablespoon or more), then dissolving is a good idea. Mix well and all will be fine.
