I have an order for a wedding shower cake to feed 30 people. I originally had planned to do a version of the wedding dress cake (using a 10" heart pan). If I torte for 3 layers, will this be enough to feed 30? Or should I also make a dozen cupcakes to send along for good measure? This is being done for a friend of my Mom's at a deep discount, so I'm not all that worried about it but would like to guesstimate as correctly as possible.

Thanks for your help!

That would probably be enough...but I would probably do the cupcakes anyway. icon_smile.gif

I think that would be enough. A layer usually feeds 12, give or take. So if you're making 3 layers, there should be plenty. Cupcakes are "icing on the cake", they'll love 'em, but you've fullfilled your commitment with the cake. Best baking! icon_biggrin.gif
