Ok so I think I have decided to make a replica cake of my boyfriend's truck. Doug helped me get the basic structure planned. I will be covering it with fondant and using chocolate Hostess doughnuts for the tires. I am looking for any tips or tricks or ideas that anyone can give me . I have until September11th to get this cake completed, so I really need to start getting a shopping list together.
I am open to any suggestions, ideas, tips ot tricks. Here's a picture of the truck.

The fondant is going to make the truck pretty heavy, or at least I would think...maybe feeze the dognuts...just a thought.for some added stability....I also like the ide of a custom plate, that would be awesome! Maybe with his name and age!
