do you charge a different price for your wedding cakes than you do your regular cakes? How much difference?

here's a BUMP-sorry, so far I've only done wedding cakes a gifts, not for pay.

you definitely have to charge more for a wedding cake than a birthday cake

1. The designs are usually way more intricate and time consuming

2. They often require stacking or doweling and plates and columns, etc.

3. They usually require delivery and set up

4. They usually require much more planning and time to execute!

5. It's one of the BIGGEST things on one of the BIGGEST days of the person life....extra stress= more money

I'm sure there are more!

I charge the same price per serving, unless the birthday cake is really simple. Then I might go down.

never having done a wedding cake, I cannot say from experience...but if I ever do...heck ya I am charging more (right now i get $20 for an 11X15 sheet cake with fondant decorations)!
