So...according to that chart, a 6" round 2" high serves 12. I would *assume* that a two 6" 2"'s would equal 24 servings???

No the serving sizes are considered with two layers of cake and one of filling, you don't double the servings. Wedding servings are usually based on slices that measure 1" x 2" x 4" high

There's also a chart on the Wilton site (don't know how to copy the address like miriel has done).

Your question about the 6" x 2" pans = 12 servings? If your talking about stacking two 6" layers, you'll just have more cake, same size servings cut.

Ok, now I'm just confused!!!

I know most of it is sleep deprivation...but I have no other excuse for the other part icon_biggrin.gif

So...what the chart says is for two layers of cake? So a 2 layer 6" cake is only 12 servings?

I would think with two layers the slices would be smaller, therefor, more servings?

Have I been mislead?!?!

That is correct, the number of servings you see listed on charts is for a finished cake, not per layer.

The figures on the chart are based on a 4" high cake and a serving size of 1"x2"x4".

It mentions 2 layers but means each layer is 2" high, so making a cake 4" high.

It can get very confusing whether your sleepy or not! icon_cry.gif

Usually the slices are a general 1" x 2" size when cut whether it's a single (2") layer or a double (4") layer height. Make sense now? That's what I meant by 'just have more cake'.
