Can calla lilies be made using royal icing and the lily nail? I have a cake due on saturday that has been left up to me but I was informed that calla lilies are the brides favorite. Its an informal spur of the moment wedding and they are fine with roses and whatever else I can come up with. But if its possible I would like to add some calla lilies to it since they are her favorite.

I forgot to add that they want all the flowers to be edible.

I have not made them of royal, only gumpaste. If you have access to premade fondant and some Tylose powder or Gumtex you could make them. They are really one of the easiest flowers to make. I'll pm you instructions if you think you would like to try it.

I have an old yearbook with the directions to make what they call a calla lily but I don't think it really looks like one. I think you'd be best off making a roses or something since it's not the most attractive flower I've seen.

I've never made them with Royal Icing. Only gum paste. They are very simple to make and usually set up quickly

I made some out of MMF on some cookies and all I did was use a heart cookie cutter and folded them over.......it was REALLY simple and easy......maybe you could mix up some MMF and give it a go???

How about if you make them out of a mixture of rolled fondant and marzipan? They will be pretty and delicious!
