In the instructions that come with the Kathy Scott kits, she states that she found out royal icing and buttercream decorations tend not to stick. I made some chocolate leaves (playing around) and put little edible pearls in the middle and they did fine. So I would suggest chocolate. However, I have not tried the royal or buttercream icings for decorations. Let us know how it goes!
