I am looking into buying an airbrush & compressor.
I do not know anything about them or how to airbrush.
Can anyone tell me...
-is this something that I can teach myself from books , trial & error, etc?
- what is the best brand? How about KopyKake?
-is there a distributer in Toronto?

About your airbrush questions. Ive had mine over 10 yrs, I bought it from KOPYKAKE, it is a AIRMASTER. It came with the airbrush gun and compressor. I LOVE it. I dont know what I would do with out it. I taught my self through trial and error. The only thing I will say is to clean it after every use. I use hot water or if I have been using luster dust I clean it with VODKA. Wierd but it really does clean it well.

I hope this helps.

I have a Kopy Kake airbrush as well. I like it because it is compact...stores away easily with the rest of my equipment. It is easy to buy parts for (crown tips and needles mostly). You get the parts from your cake supply source. I get the Kopy Kake air brush colors as well...they all work together. I use mine a lot. I shade in my drawings and sculptured work. For the background I used to watch Disney movies a lot to see how they colored the background in. It is never just a Flat color. The KopyKake compressor is not as large as a lot of compressors but I have never needed more than what I have.

Thanks for asking!! I've been shopping for a compressor too. I'll shop with Kopy Kake.

I was just looking into these myself. McCall's Bakers Warehouse in Mississauga carries the Airmaster. It's about $360.

I have the KromaJet airbrush and compressor and I only paid about 125. for it and it came with 3 bottles of color. I use it all the time and have never wished for more power.
