I have heard adding melted chocolate to the marshmallows - before adding to the powdered sugar. I have also heard adding cocoa powder to the sugar before adding the marshmallows. What is the best way? (Need this for a cake on Saturday....) Thanks for the help!!
I think you can do either way or both...I just add a little cocoa powder. If you use the dark cocoa (like the hersheys dutch processed) go easy with it. That is how I learned you can make BLACK mmf with it.
I used both - 1 oz melted chocolate chips added to the melted MM's, then I added some cocoa powder to my powdered sugar. It gave me a light brown color that I didn't think looked chocolately enough, so some people suggested I try dark chocolate next time.
