My mom has a KA with a burnt out motor. She's about 73 and burnt it out about 10 years ago or so. Is there a lifetime warranty on all KA's?
I'm new to baking, but would love to refurbish hers instead of buying a new one. I can't even afford the LOWES special right now! ![]()
Does anyone have any phone numbers ? or any information about this? I'm not sure where she bought it and not sure if she has any of the warranty info.
Thanks for any help!! ![]()

It all depends on what you call "lifetime" anymore... They USED to stand by "lifetime meant lifetime"... Now it's one year... Either way, I'd still call KA - the number is listed on kitchenaid.com and you can either send it in or take it to a KA approved repair center. I took mine to a repair center and it worked out o.k. and was like $50-some bucks for the repair job but the repair centers are pretty good about if you want an approximate quote on what it'll be to fix it depending on what the problem might be whereas the KA people or at least the person I talked to was about as much help as a box of rocks.
I don't know if it's different for the older ones but my 7 year old mixer is making a funny noise. I called kitchenaid and they said "yep, it's making a funny noise, let me give you the number to the repair center near you" and you can pay for it.

So no lifetime for me. I ordered one from Lowes when they had the sale and when it comes in am taking the old one to be repaired.
Thank you all for your help! I was online with my mom last night and couldn't find the website. Of course tonight, I find it right away!
In any case, even if they don't have a lifetime warranty, maybe I can just get hers repaired? I'm sure it would be better than me just pretending my hand mixer is a KA and walking away while its running in the bowl. ![]()
Depending on what's wrong with it it could end up costing more than replacing it with the sale. My speed regulator was out on my 4.5 quart and just to get the part was going to be almost $40. I'm sure if I had shipped it down (not cheap) and paid for the repair it would have cost almost as much as the same mixer new (the one in Walmart that's under $200).
Sometimes it's worth it and others it isn't.
My husband wouldn't even order the part and fix it himself, the mixer was 7 years old and he said that there could be other things wrong with it.
If you live close to a repair center see if you can get an estimate, that should help decide if it's worth it.
You have a good point. I just looked up some of the repair centers and it would have to be shipped. All I can think is $$$.
I may just have to spend the money and get a new one, eventually.
I sold my first cake yesterday for $20. that's how many more to go? ![]()
