Ok the way I think it can be done is by making the fondant gray and paint it with luster dust in a silver color with a flat paint brush and some lemon extract but hoping there an easier way I do not have an airbrush.

That's how I would do it. Tint the fondant gray and dry paint with nu silver luster dust and steam, or wet paint with nu silver and vodka/extract. If you paint it wet, use a 2" wide foam brush from the craft store to paint the cake faster.

Miriel ---I bought a wider paint brush I did not know I could use a foam brush! darn I saw them at Walmart and thought about it but went for the paintbrush. Do you think the foam brush will give me more smooth results or will the paint brush be just the same?

I get better results with a foam brush than a paint brush when covering large areas. I use the kind with black foam, with a tapered, flat end and come several pieces for $1 at Michael's or Jo-ann's. They don't last long with me so I tend to stock up on them when they are on sale.
