I saw a picture (I think it was in a Wilton yearbook, but I can't find it again when I need it...go figure!) of cupcakes where the entire top icing was made into a rose with the petals covering the top of the cupcake. I know how to do roses on a flower nail, but these were piped directly onto the top of the cupcake. Does anyone know how to do this?

This video from the CIA on You Tube might help:

Both great resources guys! The CIA thing showed flowers that looked like carnations and the CC tutorial looks more like a rosette than a flower. I need to make roses on top (to match the rest of the flowers for the party). Any more ideas?

They are easy to do. Good luck with them. The rose needs to be made with a larger rose tip. Larger the better. I have made these in the past and they are easy. You use the cupcake like a flower nail. Be prepared to give your wrist a workout. Practice for a while on one cake. When you get the hang of it, make the rest. The leafs fill in the spaces.
