Help!
im trying to make rich chocolate filling
i mixed 2 egg yolks,milk and dark chocolate then attempted to thicken it by heating them.I then left it to cool.
i made buttericing then added it in and it was like a liquid mixture!
so in a paniced daze i tried to heat it(dont ask me why)
so now i think ive overcooked it and ruined it
any advice?

Check the recipe section for a chocolate filling recipe offered in cake central. I think you may have to start over.

You should never heat the filling once you have added the buttercream. If it was too thin you should have cut back the amount of chocolate filling you add to the buttercream or add more icing sugar. Hope this helps

When I make a chocolate filling I use my rich chocolate pie recipe. For the filling you cook the sugar, regular type, milk, cornstarch, egg yolks, cocoa until it boils stiring constantly, let it boil for about 1 minute, pull off the burner add a piece of butter and some vanilla. Let it cool and it will be very thick. I am not sure why you added the buttercream icing to it, but was a little confused if you were wanting filling or icing. Chocolate buttercream is made with your regular b/c recipe and you can add a square or 2 of melted chocolate to it. I hope this helps.
