I was wondering if it is at all possible to make one giant NFSC (I'm talking cookie sheet sized) and decorate it like you would a cake?

My MIL is a HUGE Maxine fan and I saw a really great cake on the home page (cannot find it now and dont remember who created it, sorry icon_redface.gif ) and I'd like to try this idea on one big cookie to ship to her.

Anyone done anything like this?

I have baked sugar cookies and choc chip cookies both in large heart shaped pans and it has been fine. I just greased the pan well and pressed in the dough. I don't remember which recipe I used. Good Luck

There shouldn't be a reason why the same recipe wouldn't work on a sheet pan. Just make sure it is level and it will all bake the same.
The big choc chip cookies are all baked with a regular recipe. when I worked in a supermarket bakery, all we did was take the frozen raw cookies out of the box, put them in a parchment lined big pan and bake them a little longer.
I would roll the cookie dough out on the parchment, then place it in the sheet pan and trim the dough to a bit smaller than the pan to allow for some possible spreading.

Thanks everyone. I am either going to go with the NFSC, Penny's or a pan cookie recipe I found on the Wilton site, but I'm not to thrilled with Wilton stuff...but it sounds ok. Maybe I'll try all 3 and see which one I like better.

Better go shopping!
