I'm hoping someone could help me with this bit of confusion. I'm having a hard time in figuring out how to make a game controller. Do you make a template then cut it out of cake, then use fondant? I've seen alot of picture on this website, but just can't figure that out. If you can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks icon_mad.gif

Hi there
I've made two nintendo gamecube cakes, the cake was simply a 6 inch square, baked in a 3 in pan, with a high collar on the pan to make the cake grow higher, the second one i did, was two cakes stacked together.
The controllers i did differently both times. The first time, I baked a 2inch high 6 inch cake, which i cut to shape, i didnt use a stencil, i just did it by looking at a photo of a real controller. It wasn exact, close enough did it. The second time, I couldnt be bothered carving a cake, so i did the whole thing out of fondant, just shaped it, it was easier than trying to cover the cake in fondant ; )
hope this helps.
here are the two i've done
