Just got done looking at Emma's amazing tutorial and I have a question for everyone. Do you stack first and then decorate or do you decorate and then stack? Why?

thx

Decorate then stack..........I don't like to transport stacked/tiered cakes.

Depends on the design, but I usually stack first.

Depends on the design. I never transport assembled so if any decor has to overlap or cascade tiers, then it's decorated at the site. Most of mine, I am able to decorate, transport, then assemble .... usually just have to add a bottom border, or ribbon or the flowers.

I like to decorate first, stack last. That way, all of the "good sides" are always facing the same direction. icon_biggrin.gif
Makes transport easier, too.

I have not done true 'stacked' cakes yet, so I currently decorate and then stack. I do floating pillars mostly.

I decorate and stack too. If I have to transport a stacked cake I'll stack 2 tiers and the add any others at the site.
