This is my first wedding cake and nightmare and I am glad it is over. I stressed over this cake so bad. It is covered in Faux fondant Buttercream and I painted the roses on with old gold luster dust.
A very special thank you to Momof4luvscakes, she was here to help this morning when I was stressing out and help me through it. Thank you so much. I was ever brave enough to transport the cake together. I used the Cake-Jacks in the bottom and middle layers and my cake never moved. Those things are awesome. I know it is not perfect but the bride loved it and that is all that matters.
My file was too big so here is the link:

Congrats!!!! I hope you get to do many more!!

I have seen cake jacks on web sites and such and wondered what they were...how do you use them, and how are they different from pillars?

They are little plastic dowels and you screw them out to the desired height that you need. I like them, better than cutting wood and all that good stuff.

I haven't done a wedding cake yet but, from what I've read, the first is always the hardest. The closest I have come is my sisters bridal shower cake and a baptism cake, both 3 tier. I was a nervous wreck. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to do the real thing. Congrats on your first!! thumbs_up.gif

Congrats on your first wedding!!!! I've heard it is nerveracking as h - e- double hockey sticks, but that once you see the finished product - Whew what a sence of accomplishment!!! (This is what I've heard - I've yet to attempt a tiered cake!!)

P.S. I clicked on the link to check out the pic and it directed me to a purple monkey cake. icon_confused.gif Is this what the bride ordered???

A very good job! I like the way you tied in the color of the roses with the border around the bride and groom. That looks great! I've been wanting to try the cake jacks but just haven't gotten around to getting some. With your testimonial, I'm even more anxious to give them a try!

I don't think I could have made it without your words of encouragement. You really calmed me down. Thank you so much. You are very sweet.
