I wanted to try something different so I made these little pinecones. I have'nt been able to bake for quite a while due to having a nasty case of vertigo. These I can do sitting down. Anyway, what do you think?

Very cool...what tip and how? I also love that you used a dowel. I've learned to love making roses on a dowel.

Thank you! They are made with BC frosting. I did them on little candy sticks using a 101 rose petal tip. I'll take some pics ov how I did them and post them.

So cute! I love them! I've always wanted to make pine cones! icon_smile.gif Were you able to get them off the dowels without having them shrink in height? I find that's my problem when I do roses on sticks....

Your pinecones look great!

A couple of other things you can use as your center to make them 100% edible are b/c icing (make the center just like you do a rose but much taller and let it dry overnight) and a tootsie roll. I haven't tried a royal icing center yet but it would probably work too.

You can also use a marshmallow for your center, big or little.

I used chocolate clay to make my pinecones. Made a base like for a rose and then just made litte snips.
