Sure, just add 1 oz. bottle of green food coloring to white cake mix. I have done this at Chrsitmas with one layer read and another layer green.

I don't see why not. It'd probably be easier to use the liquid food coloring instead of the gell paste, though.

You also might want to start off with a "white" cake instead of yellow or butter because that'll change the color you're trying to achieve. Or I guess you could add blue to the yeloow cake and see what happens. Good luck!

I do it all the time...little girls LOVE having a pink cake once they cut into it!!! I use the wilton colours for this purpose.

I do this all the time also, especially if I need to make one of 'weird' colors for teams, etc. Or you can also (depending on the colors) use jello for coloring and flavoring.

I made a three layer sheet cake last year for the fourth of july.

One layer was each: red, white, blue.

Word of warning (depending of how much coloring you use).......the "consumers" of this cake will be reminded of it days later, lol! icon_wink.gif

Yes, I too do it all the time. The only oneI've had trouble with was a peach cake which didn't want to be a peachy color; I finally got it by dumping in Wilton white which muted the orange-y color I was getting. Also, white cake does work better; I even use just egg whites instead of whole eggs to keep it whiter. Have fun! PAT

I have colored sooooo many things! Cakes, drinks, pancakes....just to name a few. Oh yeah, and cookies too. icon_razz.gif My son loves orange pancakes! When I was pregnant, I made a cake with a pink layer and a blue layer....icon_wink.gif

I made a pistachio cake ( french vanilla BC mix with 1 pck of pistachio pudding) and it was green you could add more color to it depending on what kind of green you or he wants.

Yes definitly. I used the wilton gels. It doesn't take much. I did the birthday cake in my pics colored. It is actually 2 layers torted into 4. I did one cake white and one pink then alternated them white, pink, white, pink and filled between them with raspberry preserves. She loved it!
