so i delivered my best buy cake today to the store...when i got there they didn't even kno where they were putting it!!! then, they got a table put up and everything, after like 20 mins of me bein there. the lady tells me to wait cause they want to take a pic of it (im like wait for what?) EVENTUALLY someone takes a pic and then she tells me i can start to cut it! all she hired me to do was make it...not stay there and serve it. but i cut some so they have an idea of how big they need to be, and this whole time i have my 2 children with me...21 mos and 9 mos. cause orig. all i was doing was dropping it off. so i have the little one in the stroller and my older one walking and because of the cake i had to have her monkey leash thing on her. the ENTIRE time she wanted every piece of cake i cut. and it was basically almost nap time so of course she was screaming most of the time. all this, while trying to find the lady so i could get paid. my hubby workes there so i asked him to find out about it, and nothing. the lady was back and forth and i dont even think she heard anything anyone was saying to her. Needless to say i've came home (unpaid) and hope my hubby will get the money for me b4 he comes home for lunch. i really dont want to have to go back over there to get it, it just seems like they didn't have ANYTHING organized. ALL i can say is at least everyone said it was an AWESOME and tasty cake

On the kid subject--I will do anything short of eating a bug to NOT have my kids with me when I drop cakes off to paying customers. Nothing makes me feel less professional than having them with me, even though they're quiet...

Oh you poor thing! I just cannot feel any more sorry for you! yea i didn't want them with me, but we dont have anyone to watch them and it was supposed to be some kind of "family day" or somethin for the store. i wanted to go earlier than hubbys shift so he could have the kids while i do my thing, but he wouldnt help, so it made everything right to the time. and he was like the kids will have fun they are gonna have hot dogs and etc. and they never even got it goin. but, off of that, to get the icing that smooth, i went to lowes and bought a "paint-trim guide with steel edge" washed it up real good and since my cake is 15 in. wide, the guide i bought is 22 in. so i just held it and guided it across the whole cake! only took 1 swipe and it was great! of course b4 i did that i ran some hot water over it like u would do normally.
There is nothing more frustrating than delivering to a place that is unorganized

thanks! hubby finally got the money after his lunch break. get this, they were so unorganized that the STORE MANAGER didn't even kno they were getting (let alone paying $75 for) a cake. it was the ass. store man. that did it. but at least in the end everyone was happy with it and i'll be hired for any other events they have!
the cake came out to be 15X22 inches. it was huge!

thx. i def. plan to get money before ANYONE gets cake lol. and i think i will just write a little something up or have it known that i will charge for serving it.
You definitely need a signed order form when dealing with a company. Somethimes they won't pay without an invoice!
