Sugarpaste Glue??

hi all
very new to all this but still very fascinated, can some one tell me if there is a sugarpaste 'glue" that can be used to attatch sugarpaste scrolls and such to cakes ond is there any recipe of sugarpste that can be put on the cake and then in the fridge ?? if not how long can you make the cake ahead of time to keep it fresh??

your can buy sugarpaste glue or you can make your own using tylose and water.

not sure about your other question, so i'll leave that one for someone else to answer.

Hi bakerchick,

You can refrigerate both FondX brand and Satinice fondant.

As for sugarpaste glue, I use CMC mixed with a little boiling water, it's way cheaper than buying it and it works a treat! Just put some boiling water into a small jar, like an empty liquid food dye bottle, fill it about half to three quarters full and then put in about 1/3 teaspoon of CMC or tylose, put the lid on, shake it and then leave it, it will take about an hour or so to mix in properly.

If it's too thick, just keep adding boiling water until it's the correct consistency, it should be thick enough to stick to your brush like paint.
