Does anyone know where I can find fondant molds for fish? My stepmother wants me to make a fish themed cake for his birthday.

Thanks!

I just use those clear plastic chocolate molds. Works fine. Fortunatley I have a large retailer near me who carries gazillions of chocolate molds. Country Kitchens should have it though.

Thanks! Do I just press the fondant in the mold and let it dry and then pop it out.

I use the chocolate molds also and they work great. I just made a fish the other day and it turned out great. Just press it in and I let mine dry for several days and it pops right out. icon_biggrin.gif

I just bought a fish mold this week. I went to the store but I believe you can call and order them. (They are cheap!!!!) And it worked really nicely.

let it dry before popping it out? Wow that would take planning. I'm usually last minute, so I poke up an edge with a toothpick or even a knife and peel it out, then smooth over the edge I poked.

I pop it out then put it on the cake - I don't let it dry in the mold. Especially if you need it to be flexible to curve with the cake on the sides.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. Now I know what I can do with the zillion candy molds that I purchased during my "making candy" days! ha, ha.
