Sorry for posting another topic ,but i'm really curious on this. I want to avoid baking this time because as much as i love it, i want to focus on the decorating.

Will Publix or Kroger be willing to bake certain cake layer sizes for me for my Topsy -Turvey cake? I'm afraid to ask for it without icing or anything and they'll suspect something. Of course there is nothing to suspect as this cake really is just for my family.

I'm willing to pay, that's not the problem. I just don't want them to give me a weird look. As nice as that is..

Thanks!

they probably will sell you the "blank" cakes. But they will probably be expensive. I needed 72 "blank" cupcakes for my girl scout troop to learn to decorate. the cost was the same as if I would have bought them decorated. Some grocery bakeries don't bake at their location, they are shipped in from elsewhere.

Publix will,
I can't remember at the moment exactly how much it is, but we charge by the pound. Buttercream is $4.00 a pound, cake might be $3.50.. I can get back to you on that. (It might be different in each region though)

Some bakeries will do it for you too.
I've bought a couple from the bakery down the street from me. I got 4 rounds and it came to about $10. Although each place will have thier own pricing.

Hope that helps!
