Hello, I'm new to the board and to CC. Have just posted a few pictures in the past month but hoping to do more in the near future. I am planning on making a cake for my son's kindergarden class the first week of school and need some ideas. It will be a two tiered fondant covered cake and I would like to do some fondant accents like apples or crayons, etc. but not sure how to make accents like that. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! -Kat

practice a bit with your fondant first roll it out and mold it by hand and see if you can make the stuff look the way you want, i can't imagine apples,(ball you dent the top of with a little leaf on top) crayons (snake of fondant that you make have a pointed tip you can add more detail with the foodwriters), rulers(just a flat rolled out slab with some writing on it), pencils (just like crayons) etc. being too hard. did you check the galleries yet? you can always PM someone that made a cake like that and ask how they did something. most everyone around here is willing to help.
