I am so excited! I am meeting with the owner of a reception hall that has a kitchen. Dh spoke to him yesterday and he seemed very open to renting it to us on off hours. We are going to meet with him today. What do I bring, ask, and do??? Please keep your fingers crossed for me because there is a huge opportunity for me next month, but I'll only do it if I'm liscensed. It's pretty high profile ( for around here anyway)

Well, of course, you would have to bring a portfolio of your work. Then you would have to bring a list of your equipment needs - whether you would be using his mixer (if he even has one), ovens, refrigeration, etc.

I would also ask him if he can recommend which types of insurance to purchase, and where to get them.

Wow, what a dream - to have a private place to bake, decorate, and photograph your creations. I would also ask about storing your own personal supplies - you don't want others to have access to your stuff when it's rented out to someone else. You might also want to ask about availability - would you have open access to the place or have to rent it out on a cake by cake basis? Best of luck!
