Does anyone have instructions on how to make a baseball cap? If so, would you be so kind to share. Also, would it have to be covered in fondant? I can understand the bill being made of fondant or gum paste, but I would like the cover the cap part w/ BC. What size pan would I use to make the cake, etc.?
Any help would be appreciated?

I used a Wilton soccer pan and a rose nail to distribute heat, (you could probably use a Pyrex bowl but the top will be a little flat so you would have to carve it.) I'm thinking one cake box, I use scratch cake and I can't remember without looking at my notes how many cups it takes. I covered mine in BC with a Fondant bill. At that time I did not feel comfortable using all fondant since it was only my eighth official cake.

I formed the bill over a plastic covered cardboard shaped into the shape and curve I wanted and let it dry. Then just butted it up to the cake and let sit freely.

I added the Twins logo free hand.

WHen I did mine, I used the wilton sports ball pan, and placed it on top of a 6" cake. I did cover it in fondant, that way I could put in the stitching details. I also used fondant for the bill, only I didn't let it dry long enough before putting it under the cap (it drooped a little bit).
