Will buttercream frosting w/ lots of wilton's mp stand up to 101 degree heat and a 2 hour transport?

Don't know about the fondant, but all shortening bc travels well IF you have air conditioning in car and keep cake out of direct sun light. Make sure car cool before loading cake.

I have covered a frozen fruit cake with fondant while still a bit frozen and found that as the cake was defrosting , condensation showed through the fondant. This was my christmas cake last year, so I wasn't worried but if you were doing a cake for someone I would not have the cake frozen.

The cake was OK but you have to let the condensation dry and not poke around touching the cake.....

Sorry, don't know about using BC....

I've covered semi frozen cakes with fondant but you have to smooth them fast because it makes the fondant tacky and the smoother won't glid over it at all. It dries out though.
