HI everyone!!!
Ive been reading and learned a LOT on this site so I hope you experts out there can clear some things for me.
I just did my very first MMF this afternoon. It was great, texture wise and is fun to work with. Now my questions:

1. When I have formed something with my MMF today (i made pumpkins for my thnaksgiving cake), can I store it and use it for future cakes? If so, how do I store it.

2. I have made some MMF leaves as well using my cookie cutters. My problem is how to lift the cut MMF from my table without the sides of MMF (where I gently pried it off my table) look like it has been pulled out? It was hard getting the cut MMF leaves off my table where I rolled it from. I just spread Crisco before rolling the thin MMF on my table.

Hope anyone can help me with these questions.
Thanks a whole lot ladies in advance.

KKG,

You can store the Fondant wrapped up in plastice wrap very good, and then place it in a baggie (make sure all of the air is out). I don't know how long it is good for so someone else might be able to answer that question.

Now for lifting it off of the table, since it is small leaves I would use a spatula, or butter knife perhaps.

I just used MMF for the first time today too. I like it alot.

Hi, and welcome...you're going to love this site icon_biggrin.gif

1) You can save MMF-wrapped well in film, placed in a ziploc type baggie or plastic container and stored in the fridge. Let it return to room temp prior to reusing. It will keep for several weeks.
2) Before you roll out MMF dust the surface of your table and rolling pin with cornstarch, that should keep it from sticking. thumbs_up.gif

You can also roll it out between sheets of clear vinyl or waxed paper, then peel them off.

I just did some wheel centres by flattening between the waxed paper, tonight. No sticking at all! icon_biggrin.gif
