HI everyone!!!
Ive been reading and learned a LOT on this site so I hope you experts out there can clear some things for me.
I just did my very first MMF this afternoon. It was great, texture wise and is fun to work with. Now my questions:

1. When I have formed something with my MMF today (i made pumpkins for my thnaksgiving cake), can I store it and use it for future cakes? If so, how do I store it.

2. I have made some MMF leaves as well using my cookie cutters. My problem is how to lift the cut MMF from my table without the sides of MMF (where I gently pried it off my table) look like it has been pulled out? It was hard getting the cut MMF leaves off my table where I rolled it from. I just spread Crisco before rolling the thin MMF on my table.

Hope anyone can help me with these questions.
Thanks a whole lot ladies in advance.

I put powdered sugar on the counter and I don't have a sticking problem. I'm not sure how long you can store MMF. When I've used the Wilton fondant it does not keep very long, even in a ziploc bag.

Get some heavy plastic ...the kind you would put on a dining room table to keep spills off of. You can get it most anyplace that sells fabric. Cut 2 sections about 16x16 or even larger. Spread crisco on this an roll it out. If you add gumtex to the fondant it dries faster and is more elastic. By rolling it on the plastic you can actually pull the plastic away from the fondant to pick up. Store wrapped in saran wrap...no air then put in a plastic bag. I have had the Wilton fondant that I opened since June and it was fine..very soft...

Get a benchscraper from Bed Bath & Beyond--I have the Graham Kerr Bash and Chop--works wonderfully! B & C should be less than $5

I made some MMF back in the beginning of August. Kept wrapped in Saran Wrap, inside a plastic ziploc baggie.

Just reconstituted it in the microwave, 20 seconds....kneaded with Crisco.....good to go!

I've read here somewhere, that you can keep it for up to 6 months icon_eek.gif
