I made Rhonda's ultimate MMF and it tastes really great however the texture is not quite right. The fondant is very soft and crumbly. The more shortening I add the softer it gets and still is crumbly. It rolls out with cracks in it. I usually do not have any problems at all with MMF....so I am at a loss here. I am wondering if it is all the additional ingredients that makes it this way. Anyway I am going to make lemonade out of lemons and use a cookie cutter to place the MMF on top of cupcakes. I would appreciate anyones advice or shared experiences. Thank you in advance.
I don't know what happened. I use that recipe all the time and I have never had a promblem. I love it. Did you let it sit before you used it? Sorry I couldn't be more help ![]()
Sorry it took so long, but the strangest think happened I was making mmf for I cake I have due tommorrow and the texture is horrible. I use the great value marshmallows from wal-mart.
Ladies, This recipe was very crumbly for me however I am certainly not going to give up on the first try. I heard many good things about this one. I just need to get it right. I was asking about the brand of marshmallows because this is the first time I made MMF with CAMPFIRE brand and I was wondering if that was the problem. I am going to stick with KRAFT. I am going to give it another try with this brand although it will be awhile before I need more MMF...just a hobbyist here who looks for excuses to make cakes. Yes, I did use the corn syrup. Thanks for your replies.
