I need to make a cake for a jewerly party this Monday, but it only needs to feed 20-25 people. Any ideas??? Also, I'm not set on a flavor, any ideas? Oh, by the way...I'm not real good with fondant. Actually, I've never worked with it, and don't really want to try it on this cake.

The simplest fondant to make and use is MMF. You can have it ready to go in 15-20 mins mixing and such and then it'll need time to chill down. You can do most anything with it (you'll want to put Crisco on your hands to knead it). It taste good and is really easy to control. (If you decide to make flowers, it is best to mix MMF 50/50 with gumpaste. MMF doesn't dry.) As for flavors for a cake, the sky's the limit. Carrot? Choc. filled with Raspberry-Truffle, (really good and the recipe is in "recipes"). Have a great time playing with it.

if there is a supply store around you, Wilton has a Jewlery mold, has necklaces, diamond ring, things like that.

You can do a simple sheet cake and decorated it with the molded chocolates.

does that help?

I've seen a few pictures on here of jewerly boxes, how do you go about making one. I get the bottom, I just don't know about the top.

I really think that the jewelry box is a good idea! Maybe even a round one that that is still closed but has the worlds jewelry on the top and has a string of icing pearls hanging out of the lid.
