I was just wondering if any of you own bakeries in a small town out there. How is the business?

I own a business in a very small town. I am though on a state hwy. Most of the towns around here vary from 400 people to 1500. Since all of my business is referral, I do pretty well. My first 3 years I was in a building located downtown rural, had a store front, did fine there, however, ran out of space and there was no parking to speak of. I found some property and built a bakery about 1 1/2 miles from my original location. I decided to not have a store front per say. In otherwords, I only work by order. I was spending 80-100 hours a weeks baking a variety of goods that really was not generating the income I needed, it was alot of hours for not alot of money, so I went the route I am in now. Have done very well with the new structure and I am in my 4th year. I still do smaller items, but only to order. It took about a year to build a clientele and reputation from the original location, but it has come back to me 10 fold. I now work 1/4 of my orginal time but make 10 times the money. I guess its the old addage work smarter not harder.
