Me and my mom made fondant last night for the first time and colored it with the wilton colors (the small jars/gel-type color) and when we made the fondant, the color didn't stick to us when we washed it off....especially if you coat your hands with a little shortening. 
I don't know if that's the answer you were looking for but it works great!
