I'm making my cake for the Okla Cake show ( We leave for Tulsa TOMORROW!!!). I was using the Wilton 3d pumpkin pan for a scarecrow head. I went to put the fondant on the head and it collapsed!

That pumpkin head has been rather unstable ever since I first tried it. Is there something else I can use for a head??? My idea was similar to this cake (thanks, Jen!):

Was considering using the mini sports pan (about 6" across) as a mold for rice krispies. Mold them into a ball, then use that for a head.

Other ideas??? Need something quick! We still need to pack!

It sounds like it's a weight issue. I like your idea of Rice Krispies. Just skip the butter so it doesn't droop and melt.

Thanks, Cupcake.

Was thinking since I'm in a time crunch, I'd just buy a pack from the store....

Just to let you know what happened, I ended up buying rice krispie treats and using them to fill out the mini sports ball pan. Didn't have quite enough Rk's so used some cake from the original head to fill in the gaps. Worked out well, I guess, cuz I took third place in the beginners novelty division! SHOCKER!

Cake is in my pics if you're interested.
