I just wanted to share what my 10 year old nephew said to me this past weekend about the fondant stars I used on my pikachu cake.
He said to me Auntie the cake was really good except the stars tasted like plastic!!! haha I just had to laugh at that, you know wilton fondant is bad when the kids won't even eat it and think it tastes like plastic!
Anyways just thought that would give everyone a chuckle like it did me!

I used Wilton fondant to cover a cake for the first time earlier this month (after avoiding it like the plague forever). It was an emergency, what can I say?
Seriously, the smell was overwhelming when I opened the package. Ew! It covered the cake well, but I was determined that nobody would have to eat the stuff. It was my brother's wedding and I was cutting the cake, so I wheeled it into the kitchen and peeled all the fondant off before serving it. Fortunately I'd used a generous layer of SMBC underneath. One of the ladies who was helping me tasted a little bit of the fondant and said, "Wow! It really IS awful!" 
I just wonder what's in it that makes it taste so bad...
