Hi all,

I am looking for an old Sanders or Old Wilton recipe for buttercream icing. I only know it has eggs whites, real sugar and hot milk of some sort. Anyone have these orginal recipes. Please let me know!

Thanks
Jaclyn

I don't know if this is what you're looking for. This recipe came from Paula Dean as a filling for a lace trumpet cookie. It makes a good buttercream, though.

1/5 cups shortening
1 stick butter
1.5 cups sugar
1 egg white
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup hot milk

cream together shortening and butter. Add sugar and beat well. Add egg white and vanilla. Beat thoroughly. add hot milk 1 Tbsp at a time and beat until creamy.
