OK so the allergy warning I can kinda see....in case someone thought they had margarine instead of butter....
but HONESTLY - if someone has a gluten allergy or intolerance, wouldn't they already know that gluten comes from grains/plants, NOT COWS????![]()

We have to put the allergy warnings on everything for the farmers market. The one that I think is funny is our whole wheat bread. It is labelled "100% Whole Wheat Bread" and at the bottom of the label is "Allergy warning: contains wheat"
no sh&% sherlock ![]()
Yeah I guess it's like needing to put Nutrition Facts labels on bottled water.![]()
All of this packaging...we are messin' with natural selection!
Natural selection... LOL. Re: butter - some people's allergies are so severe they can't have otherwise allergen-free foods processed near the allergen, and (I think) to be gluten-free, it has to be absolutely gluent-free, meaning no danger of contamination in addition to not being included as an ingredient. If you look at some chocolate bars, for example, there's a warning that the candy was produced in a facility that also packages peanuts. Same general idea. If it's safe, it will say nut-free, or similar.
