I received an e-mail today with a bunch of household tips. Among them was the below idea. Just curious if any CC'ers have ever tried this and if it really works. If it does work, is it stable enough to decorate with? I'm thinking this would really help in an emergency/last minute scenario if it really works!

**When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double
it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the
same amount. You also eat less sugar/calories per serving.

Very interested in everyone's thoughts on this one!!

I just read something like that here a few days ago. I tried it earlier this week, it does expand the frosting. I don't know about the calories though.

Whipping anything just incorporates air into the ingredients. I wouldn't recommend it for decorating as you'd have alot of air bubbles to contend with. It won't have a smooth look.

It must be adding a lot of air to do that....so I wonder if it will dry out faster?

Very interesting, isn't it? If you have tried or will be trying it, please let us know the results you get. I hope to try it soon myself and will post my results as well.

Thanks!!
