to someone who asked for a pirate cake for this Saturday! It's just too short notice when I would have to work out exactly what she wanted, price it for her, go get supplies, and make if for Saturday when I also have a party at my own house that night (chocolate tasting party woo-hoo!!!!). As soon as I declined I felt an overwhelming sense of sadness, because while I know it is the right thing to do... I would have loved to do it!!! But if I can't put 100% into a cake - it's better I don't do it at all. And I need to focus on my kids, cleaning my house REALLY well, and throwing my own party together. But oh the pain of the cake that got away!!!!

I know is hard to say no, but like you sad that is not enough notice, some times ( a LOT of times actually) people do not take time to plan things like we do, and they think you can make a cake in 1 hr.
